Norway's National Tourist Routes

Posted on February 20, 2013 at 9:30am 0 Comments

"In 2002, the government of Norway launched a program to attract more visitors to their 18 scenic highways designated as “National Tourist Routes” by building a variety of architectural overlooks and rest stops along the way. The 18-year project has already built nearly 120 sites that have been designed by Norway’s best architects."

I read this and think "what could have been?"

Hey, Matt.  Happy holidays to you and yours!  May 2012 brings you all the best.

See my blogspot for updates and feel free to share my accomplishment reports--other than work at the USDA FS :o)

Thanks Matt, kind of sad I didn't "find" your comment from May until now.  I do like Rec Link, I prefer it over yammer or twitter for sharing info, keep up etc.  I also like wilderness connect.  I'm sure more of the site has become active so I'll have to try and keep up.

Thanks for note. I am still learning how to 'work' this page. I'm going to play around. I would love any advice for job hunting with federal jobs. I find it quite difficult/enigmatic.

Hey, Matt, I hear you have managed to talk the Washington Capitols into funding a People's Garden at a local grade school there in DC.  Way to go!!!

Thanks for the welcome Matt.  I'm not sure how this Rec Link works but it seems to be a good, forward thinking thing to do.  Thanks for getting it going.  Come visit the Cherokee National Forest anytime.  We finally migrated to the new fs web portal this month.  It's a good format for recreation visitors.  It will be even better once the google dynamic map tool evolves some more.  Doug

Matt - I'm loving what you guys are doing with RECLINK. It's turning into an amazing, busy, bustling network. Makes me happy to visit. Nice job. Time for some brain picking... the Green Infrastructure Community of Practice site is a still totally unfacilitated and needing some major love and smart ideas. I might be in DC early March and def early April. We should catch up! :) Dana

Your pic is great-Egypt, I'm guessing?  Cool.  my dog is a great hiking partner, and she even carries her own stuff (and a little bit of mine too)!  She's pretty good as a mtn biking and backcountry ski partner too.  She's the photogenic one so thought I would put her picture up.  :)

I like this rec link already, I am enjoying the connection to others in the rec world.
